If you'd told me last year that my second book would be set on a ranch in Montana, feature a brooding cowboy, a chaotic heroine, and a backdrop of dusty rodeos and wide open skies... I'd have said, shut the hell up.

But here we are - draft one is DONE, and I’m neck-deep in research for draft two 💻✍️

To make sure I get it just right, I’ve been:

📍 Scoping out Bozeman + Billings so I can find the right vibes for my characters

🛬 Zooming in on the airport (yes really)

🌾 Finding the ranch vibe for a certain Cowboy who is going to make things a little complicated for my main character, Harper

🗺 Getting lost in Google Maps for street accuracy and figuring out where I want to place my fictional boutique

Okay, this book was AMAZING.

I’ve never read a dual timeline book before, but it flowed really well and was easy to keep track of.

I won’t spoil it, but what I wanted to happen as the outcome midway in the story, was EXACTLY what happened, which made me very happy!

Really good book with strong female characters - especially Ursula - and anything remotely witchy is right up my street.

Great book, and will definitely be looking for more to read from this author.

I’ve never felt more powerful than I did sat there, laser in hand, blasting away like it was my full-time job. Iconic behaviour, tbh.

It took me a few chapters to really get into the book - and I struggled with some of the Regency Era terms (mostly the ones not included in the handy glossary at the back), so my Google search and I had to work together!

Once I did get into the book, however, I quite enjoyed it. I loved that Phoebe wanted to go on adventures, and she did quite a few heroic actions through the book.

I also really liked that it wasn’t 100% clear what would happen by the end of the book - and I’m glad Phoebe got a happy ending!

Yep, spent my weekends painting tiny armour-clad warriors and then ruthlessly battling them like it was life or death.

He’d be up at the crack of dawn (like, before the seagulls were even awake) rustling up a little fry-up for us all - beans cooking, sausages sizzling by 5:30am, and always humming something cheerful like he wasn’t running on zero sleep. 😂

We were meant to be heading home… but then the zebras started being adorable and that was that.

Ended up watching them for nearly an hour - just grazing, nuzzling, squabbling, and having little zebra chats like it was a daily debrief. There’s something so calming about just sitting and watching them be.

They were the last stop of the day at Chessington and totally worth staying for. Would absolutely do it again.
